Therapeutic Massage Therapy Services
My style of massage is often described as therapeutic and deeply relaxing. My goal is to not only decrease overall tension and pain but to increase your mobility and introduce the ease of movement into your daily life. My passion has always been to help those with chronic pain find freedom from the pain.
The session may include Swedish massage, cupping massage, hot stones, hot towels, deep tissue, myo-fascial release, passive and active "pin and stretch", isolated passive stretching, or neuro-muscular techniques to achieve your goals for that day. |

The art of deep tissue isn't just about the amount of pressure a massage therapist applies to the treatment. Deep tissue is accessing the deeper layers of muscle, fascia, and soft tissue to release pain and tension, to restore mobility and function. I am not a believer that deep tissue massage should be painful. There is a level of therapeutic discomfort one can expect, but if it goes beyond that, we can actually do damage and negate the entire process of trying to "fix". That is not my goal as a massage therapist; I am here to listen and help you achieve your wellness goals. Deep tissue can be incorporated into each session and I do not charge extra for this service. I have found that being able to release the deeper layers can help create dramatic changes to achieve the goals set that day.
I have been practicing cupping massage since 2014, and I'll be honest with you, it has been my favorite modality to work with since I became a massage therapist. The amount of profound work that can be achieved with a little suction cup is mind blowing! Yes cupping massage can leave unsightly round red or purple marks on your body, but I can assure you, these are not bruises. A bruise is an injury, it can be painful and inflamed. A cupping mark is stagnated blood, lymph, and other fluids that have been pulled to the surface. This is essential to the detoxifying process of cupping. Plus, they don't hurt! I have found a very informative explanation here. I often incorporate cupping into every session. I have found that using the negative pressure achieved with suction to lift and separate the individual muscle fibers and fascia can achieve far superior results than anything else I have in my tool box. Especially for those areas of chronic pain and tension like the upper back. It is my go to for self care as well. I am often found doing the dishes with a few cups on my shoulder, or typing on my computer with a cup stuck to my forearm. I believe in the power of suction and would be happy to talk more about it if you have any questions or concerns.
I am trained in intra-oral (inside the mouth) massage which can be very beneficial to those dealing with chronic TMJD (temporomandibular joint dysfunction) or headaches. This type of massage can be incredibly powerful and I incorporate it into the regular session. This is the only “add-on” that I charge extra for because I need to add 15 minutes onto your session.
I love working with expectant mothers! I went through Doula training so that I could have a better understanding of pregnancy and everything the woman’s body endures during those nine months. Pregnancy is a beautiful time in a woman’s life, but it can also be very difficult and quite uncomfortable. Moms make huge sacrifices for her babe, and Mom deserves to be pampered and taken care of, even if it is only for an hour. When appropriate, I use the full body pregnancy cushions that allow you to lay face down for the treatment. This is not only a nice break from all the side-lying you’re doing, but also allows me to work more effectively on the back and hips which are often a huge source of discomfort.
There are many benefits to incorporating massage therapy as part of your wellness routine; regular massage not only feels amazing, but it can increase your overall quality of life by reducing stress and muscle tension. It can decrease your chances of suffering from soft tissue injury, or decrease the recovery time if you do get injured. Regular massage can also increase your immune system, lower inflammation, help decrease headaches, and help improve circulation just to name a few.
It is an honor to be part of my client’s wellness team and would be happy to answer any questions you may have about my treatment style or how I can help you.
